Bank of America Analyst Raises AMD Price Target on AI Growth Prospects
Bank of America's top semiconductor analyst Vivek Arya lifted AMD's price target to $300 from $250, maintaining a Buy rating. The revision follows promising developments at the 2025 Open Compute Project summit, particularly regarding AMD's MI450 Series "Helios" AI hardware platform.
AMD's rack-scale AI accelerators could challenge Nvidia's dominance in high-performance computing and AI training markets. The Helios system, slated for late 2026 launch, already counts Oracle, Meta, and OpenAI as prospective customers.
Arya projects AMD capturing 50% of OpenAI's planned 6-gigawatt GPU deployment through 2030, potentially adding $1.4 billion in 2026 sales and $9.7 billion in 2027. The analyst sees earnings reaching $10-11 per share by 2027 if execution meets expectations.
